Social Spark is everything that happens when we're not in class. Book club, supper club, walks in Heaton Park, Communi-tea, craft nights, games evenings, and whatever else we dream up throughout the year. Some of it is open to everyone, some of it is just for members - but all of it is genuinely, properly good fun.
If you want a bit more Spark in your life, our Social Spark Membership is just £20 for the whole year and gets you access to all our members-only socials — no class membership needed. Whether you come to classes or not, this is your way into the full Spark community. Basically the best twenty quid you'll spend.

Love reading? Or maybe even just chatting about books? Then our book club is for you! We meet monthly on Thursdays at 7.30pm and the first rule of book club is that you don't have to have read the book! That means you can come along to book club at any point. Book online to let us know you're coming or just turn up on the day, we don't mind, our doors are always open! We've even got our own Spark Library, full of books our members have loved and shared!
Each month, our members suggest a book they'd like to read and we put it to a democratic vote to choose the book of the month. Our reading range is vast and varied from 'summer trash' to booker prize winners... nothing's off the menu, but we've gotta admit we are maybe slightly biased towards books written by women!
Communi-tea
Come along for a chat and a brew at our free monthly drop in - oh, and cake! There's always cake!
No need to book, no need to tell us your coming just step into Spark and meet some great people! Our monthly Communi-tea takes place at the Spark Life studio but we also have some special pop-ups planned involving some of our other amazing Prestwich community groups throughout the year. Our last Prestwich Communi-tea held at Village Greens was a huge success and a lot of fun so keep an eye out on our socials for the next one!
Heaton Park Social Walk
Every Monday lunchtime, we meet at Heaton Park for a free, no-fuss walk — just fresh air, good chat, and a proper break in the middle of the day.
Walk at your own pace, come as you are, and head back to your afternoon feeling genuinely recharged. You can book a spot or just turn up at the gate closest to Spark - either way, you're welcome.
Supper Club
Taking Spark out on tour into our amazing local community, Supper Club is all about meeting up to celebrate good company with good food! Open to our members, we make it our mission to support local, independently owned restaurants - which is obviously a huge hardship but we're willing to bear it!
Supper Club is one of our members' only events which is included in our Social Spark Membership.

And that's not even all of it. One of our favourite things about Social Spark is that it's genuinely led by the people in it - if a member has an idea, we'll help make it happen.
Over the years that's meant theatre trips, fascinating talks, Sip and Paint, climbing expeditions, hikes, and a fair few things we probably didn't see coming. Whatever's next, it'll be something good.
